I always wanted to be a writer since my childhood. I imagine a host of titles and story-lines for my first book, originally I wanted the first one to be a novel. Actually still I have the story-line inside my mind but due to travelling, changing of places and pursuing my academic obligations, coming up with a full blown novel is a big thing. Meanwhile, I have been scribbling down these few verses and lines in my phone and notepads while I was travelling and in between fractions of my moments, which almost grew to the size of a book! But they just lay there in hiding inside those pages as words. During my masters, I came across these some really amazing poets doing poetry slams in Australia and America and watching these group of people standing up and speaking to their words, speaking up their hearts and baring their vulnerability, kind of kicked my passion back to poetry. I started writing my experience again. But this time it was different. I just starting writing without feeling apologetic and wrote my heart out. And trust me, it was better and free from cliches that had in many of my older writings. And the result? I had a string of poems to be compiled into a book.
So, during my winter vacation this year in January, I was having this conversation with my dad and suddenly I proclaimed, "I am going to write a book this year. Yes, I am going to write a book this year." So I held onto that plan and committed myself to that. So, once I had made that decision, things starting falling to place. I got the manuscript ready, I got a really good advice from one of my favorite poet on my poems, got an editor and a publisher too.
And it happened. After sleepless nights of few months and back-aching typing sessions in the laptop, finally I got the manuscript ready for publishing. Boom!
Then the book launch happened in my hometown Itanagar in presence of family and friends. It was a lovely experience, reading my own poems for the first time in front of bunch of people who were mostly academicians. Since my dad himself is professor, so he had invited bunch of his colleagues to the event. The book got launched by the vice chancellor of the University. An article was published in the local daily about the book. http://www.echoofarunachal.in/newsdetails.php?nid=ECHO20150726142042#.VcnLI3ZQYvs.facebook
Some reviews also poured in the following week:

Some of my favorite lines from my book.
It is a lovely experience to have your own book because the fact that the book is a part of my brain and a part of me and to be sharing it to people all around the world is amazing experience. And especially when people appreciate what you have felt and written and can relate themselves with my poems. It's like being on a emotional transcendence. Because, on the very true note, we humans are more or less same in many aspects.
Some pictures the readers sent in.
Last word.
The inspiration of my book has been LOVE.
And as the famous poet Khalil Gibran puts it, "Work is love made visible." I dare say, "My book is my love made visible."
Much Love,
Subi
